DESCRIPTION MEMORY

The Samana region, located in the Dominican Republic, experiences a tropical rainforest climate characterized by high levels of precipitation throughout the year. The region receives a significant amount of rainfall, contributing to its vegetation growth and vibrant ecosystem. Due to this, project persuades the idea of motivating a new lifestyle, embracing Samana’s potential power source.

The project involves the fundamental idea behind drip irrigation and its transformative impact on agriculture and living. By conserving water, optimizing resource utilization, and increasing crop productivity. Is a technique that delivers water directly to the plant's root zone in a controlled and precise manner. The core principle behind drip irrigation lies in the use of a network of tubes and emitters that release small droplets of water at low pressure. This targeted approach ensures that every drop of water is utilized efficiently, maximizing crop yield while conserving precious water resources for the living and work apartments.

Samana’s water source is maximize by the project. The climate’s positive effects on ecosystems and reusing water creating electricity and providing water for the project’s installations. The terrain’s topography help to achieve this idea by locating the complex in the highest point and by gravity distributing water throughout the farm. This not only preserves the natural beauty of the environment but also reduces the need for excavation and filling, thereby minimizing the environmental impact.

For a better adaption to the terrain’s topography, instead of leveling on the terrains, the project integrates with it. Part of the working program is buried in the terrain, while the main living program rizes above ground level. The purpose is to maximize the visuals from the highest point and have the site of the farm, becoming an ideal area to enjoy views of the sea.

As the natural surroundings have a 360 view, the project wants to promote the circulation in an external corridor that joins the social areas of each apartment with the private rooms. The idea is to live with consciousness of the external nature, making the view, changes of climate and nature be part of everyday living. The project wants to propose not only new ways of providing energy off grid but to experience a new way of living where the person who lives can take part on the working farm, learning different ways to achieve this alternative lifestyle by taking classes on the working floor. In this area is where the project power source can be recognize by taking the center of de scene.

As the guests arrived, ther discover the work area where the energy source becomes the center of the scene. The project not only reinforces the circulation of water in this center but also the main pedestrian entrance to the living units. Taking this center role for both, nature and person, the project generates a common flow between user and environment.

According to the project, nature must be a recycling way of living, where the user can take and give in recount. The project develope a plus activity to encourage guests with courses and day experiences to learn and work, grow and built withput disturbing nature. Want to stimulate the real humanity s place in their surrounding nature. In the project people will interact and generate crossroad and teach living by experience.

Therefore the project will count with senderism to rediscover the pleasure of walking in natura, through the farm, contemplate not only the sea far away but also the instant place of the working and growing area. The project wants to be an inspiration to rebalance life, review choices, ambitions and future
